24 de Junio Batalla de Carabobo
(Battle of Carabobo, June 24, 1821)
During the Latin American wars of independence, a victory was won by South American patriots over Spanish royalists on the plains to the west of Caracas, which freed Venezuela from Spanish control.
Pablo Morillo had signed an armistice with Símon Bolívr in November 1820.

This date is celebrated as Simon Bolivar Day throughout Latin America.
Who is Simon Bolivar?
He is the most powerful leader in South America, also nicknamed the liberator for helping nations become independent from Spain.
His leadership helped establish what are now the nations of Colombia, Panama, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Venezuela.
11th September: Our Lady Of Coromoto
This is observed by Christians in Venezuela and dedicated to the patroness of Venezuela.
It is also observed with a celebration and veneration of the Lady of Coromoto. People will usually go to church, go to see the relic of the Virgin Of Coromoto, or spend the day in prayer.
12th of October: Indigenous Resistance Day
It is celebrated every October 12 to honor the heroes of anti-Spanish resistance and appreciate Venezuelan indigenous cultures and history.
Indigenous Resistance Day was previously called Día de la Raza (Day of the Race), but that didn't sit well with the locals and was changed to the latter in 2002.
